Description
NOTE: For Primo “C” only (23.5mm OD conduit). Would probably be easy to adapt to the other variants, but I haven't tried.
As part of an overhaul of my MPCNC, I was able to get super cheap HGR15 linear rails from Vevor, and designed adapters to the core, and an adapter for the trucks. You will need 2 core adapters (the large parts), and 4 truck adapters (the small cylindrical parts). Print the core adapters standing on end, with supports. The supports required are minimal and easy to remove.
(NOTE: It's okay of the cylindrical truck adapters break in half. They will still work, they will just be a little more annoying to get assembled)
I found out that the bare rails, as heavy as they are, are still not nearly as stiff as the original steel conduit. However, attaching a piece of 2020 or 2040 extrusion to them stiffens them up dramatically. It's explained in greater detail in my discussion video about my upgrades:
