Description
The Jayco 242BHS / 242BHSW doesn't have an AC vent in the lower bunk. It does have an AC vent in the ceiling of the bathroom, but the bathroom is so small that it ends up damn near antarctic in there. So I made a plenum. You pop off the vent on the ceiling of the bathroom, print this, put the flange into the ceiling, run it into the wall, and install the former ceiling vent in the wall. See pictures.
Printed in multiple parts due to the size of the thing. I used ABS and solvent welded it with acetone together. There are little tabs on the elbows to help with alignment. I used a shallow dish with a bit of acetone in it to dip the ends in and then held them together until they stuck.
Then, I pulled the wall panel off to access the framing. I used caulk and some light foam sheet to insulate the “plenum” area. Measured and cut a hole for the square plenum in the wall. I also punched a small hole through from the bunk side to locate where to cut the circular hole for the vent. Nailed the wall panel back on.
