Description

The activated carbon filter system enabling switching between external exhaust and internal recirculation. Switch the duct orientation inward or outward to toggle between circulation or exhaust.

This is designed to fit perfectly with the 'Voron 0.2 Tophat Extender 15mm' mod, If the tophat extension is at least 15mm, it may be usable with other mods.

Notes:

  • Wiring may require some ingenuity :(

Required other than printed parts:

  • 1x 5015 blower fan (I recommend double-ball bearing)
  • Acid-free Activated carbon pellets
  • 3x M3x8mm
  • 3x M3x5x4mm heat-set Inserts
  • 4x 6x3mm cylindrical magnets

Print Parts:
Print a total of 6 parts ‘body.stl’, 'Lid.stl', ‘Duct.stl’, ‘Centering_Jig.stl’, ‘Rear_UpperLeft_PanelClip.stl’ and ‘Rear_UpperRight_PanelClip.stl’ .

Please download 'Rear_UpperLeft_PanelClip.stl' and 'Rear_UpperRight_PanelClip.stl' from the misc folder of  ‘Voron 0.2 Tophat Extender 15mm’.

Pre-assembly preparation:
1. Remove support structure from 'Lid.stl'.

2. Remove the top cover of the fan and use cutting pliers to cut the bottom cover into a circular shape matching the fan. (Note: the plastic may crack in the direction of the cutting pliers' blade; avoid inserting the blade toward the center to prevent damage to the bearing housing.)

3. Using a centering jig to adhere the fan in the center on lid.

Assembly:
1. Installing M3x5x4mm heat-set Inserts on 3 points.

2. Installing 6x3mm magnets on 4 points. Attention polarity!: the duct and body will each have opposite poles. For example, if the duct is S, the body will be N.

3. Place activated carbon pellets into the 'Body', cover it with the 'Lid', and tighten the 3x M3x8mm screw.

4. Attach to the rear of the tophat, replacing the panel clips with the pre-printed 'Rear_UpperLeft_PanelClip.stl' and 'Rear_UpperRight_PanelClip.stl'.
