Description
A set of Feeler Gauges for measuring the inside or outside radius of parts.
When you are designing cases, boxes, or pieces that need to mate with an existing part, it is difficult to measure the radius accurately. This tool makes it much easier.
I was inspired by the old feeler gauges we used to measure spark plug gaps.
Printed in PetG on a Prusa Mk3, 0.3 mm layers, 2 perimeters, 4 top and bottom with monotonic lines, no infill.
After printing, trim off the extra bits, stack up the parts and secure them with an M3x30 cap head screw, use washers on both sides. A nylock nut will avoid having it unscrew when you are folding and unfolding the gauge.
Included are Project files for Prusa Slicer, STLs, gcode, and source files in OpenSCAD.
If you are using OpenSCAD, do yourself a huge favor and get one of the more recent releases. I am using 2024.03.28. Go to Edit | Preferences | Features and check the boxes for fast-csg and manifold. This will speed up previews (fast-csg) and make the rendering use more than a single core of your computer (manifold). For me this improved rendering times by more than 100x compared to the older version 2021.01.x
