Description
I wanted a solution to provide some strain relief for the USB connection of my K40 Laser cutter, so that an accidental light tug on the cable wouldn't immediately damage the circuit board. I found some similar solutions online, but none of them seemed to fit my particular model well. That's why I created my own.
This USB shroud should snap in place. It provides some strain relief to the USB port, while also keeping other stuff from falling into the case.
My K40 has a USB hole that measures about 24,8 mm x 34,8 mm. While mounting this shroud (disconnect your K40 from power!), I temporarily loosened the screws that hold the cicuit board in place a bit. This provided some wiggle room for the USB port and shroud to line up properly.
Printed mine on a Prusa Mini in PETG. Has served me well for over a year now.
