Description

In search of a suitable 19" rack mount for a Raspberry Pi 5, I couldn't find anything suitable. The model was inspired by LittleProgrammers' "Raspberry Pi 5 Rack mount," which however did not meet all of my requirements.

These requirements were:

  • Right-side mounting in the network rack
  • Very sturdy yet economical in material
  • Easy to print without supports or similar
  • Simple screw mounting of the Raspberry Pi directly into the printed part
  • No bulky case, just a mounting platform to ensure full access to the Raspberry Pi.

The finished model requires about 25 grams of filament and is very stable. The Raspberry Pi can be best secured with an M3x4mm to M3x6mm screw. For this purpose, the model has a hole of 2.9mm, which resulted in a tight grip for the screw in my case.

I have uploaded the STL, OBJ, and Step files. These files contains all the identical model. So you can choose according to your file format preference. Have fun!

Addition: You might be wondering, why an M3 screw? Typically only an M2.5 fits through the mounting holes of the Raspberry Pi. Since I find the 2.5mm size annoying, I enlarge the holes with a 3mm drill for each Raspberry Pi. So far, always without any problems.
