Description
A card holder/wallet with some engraved designs.
Originally, I started designing this because I had issues with cards falling out of the Cascade wallet and wanted to add a bit more flare at the same time.
The wallet is printed in two parts - the main body and the handle. Both print without support - the wallet upright and the handle on it's edge - but I needed a brim to prevent things from tipping over (despite rarely needing one otherwise). The handle is connected to the body with superglue - and has some registration/orientation geometry to ensure it comes in at the right angle and has a strong grip. I placed the glue in the holes, dipped the registration portion in baking soda, and held it in place for 10 seconds.
If you are going to paint or fill in the patterns, I recommend doing so before attaching the handle. In my case, I used nail polish thinned out with acetone & a needle to fill in the engravings inspired by this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2f5lI1R6dg
I then coated everything with a couple of layers of mod podge.
