Description
This is an entry into the Bambu Lab 0.2mm nozzle design contest. It's goal is to produce the tiniest scale violin that you can print with a 0.2mm nozzle, with actual strings.
This model is a little temperamental to print, with it sometimes failing around the scroll at the top of the violin, however when it does it does it does it fairly quickly after the brown body has been printed.
Please note that removing the models from the print bed takes extreme care and patience as it is very small and fragile. You may very possibly damage the models even if you are very careful. However, it is possible as the pictures demonstrate!
There is a profile pre-configured for Bambu users. Other printer users will benefit from the information below to help print the unconfigured 3MF.
You must use a 0.2mm nozzle and a 0.1mm layer height for this print to work. Bambu users should have arachne walls pre-selected. I hear that in Cura or PrusaSlicer you should select Print Thin Walls to make the print work, but have not tested these slicers personally.
It is best to use slim tree supports to support the neck and the scroll at the top of the violin. You should configure a “support blocker” or that supports are only used on the print bed to stop the slicer supporting the strings on the violin body.
The bow is best removed by sliding a thin object with a fine edge under the bow carefully.
I find the best way to remove the violin seems to be to very gently bend the plate until the bottom section is released. Then lever the violin gently off the build plate from the opposite end by holding the scroll and lifting it up very carefully.
Good luck :)
