Mitutoyo Case Soft Inlay Caliper Box Inlay Digital Caliper protection

I really like the high quality of the Mitutoyo calipers, but was highly disappointed from the original box. It lacks a soft inlay IMHO.

The caliper has to much play and rattles around in the original box - but not anymore!

I designed an inlay for soft materials, which lets the caliper lay in a soft environment and adds a bit of protection to it.

I printed it in ColorFabb TPU vario shore, but any soft or flexible material should work as well.

With this inlay the original box is really good, it is sturdy and closes safe. So there is no need to print a whole new box, just about 12g of TPU to fix the issue!

I printed it with 250 degrees to get the maximum foaming effect with TPU Vario Shore.
