Description

This profile is the V2 of my previous profile that offers fantastic print quality over speed, ensuring that your creations are meticulously crafted with precision and detail.

This profile will allow you to achieve the same fantastic results that I have without compromising on quality.  Temperature settings, infill density, and layer height can all be easily adjusted to suit the unique requirements of your individual models and material used. Whether you're printing intricate figurines, functional prototypes, or intricate architectural models, this profile provides the versatility needed to tailor the printing parameters to your specific needs.

Experiment with different settings to find the perfect balance between print quality and print speed, ensuring that each project is executed with the utmost care and attention to detail. 

After bed levelling is complete, you will still need to make sure your Z offset is correct by -/+ your Z height manually should this be required.  I recommend doing this in 0.05mm increments whilst the printer is printing to get that perfect level, thus limiting waste by stopping and restarting your prints.   

Some of the features I have tried to further perfect in addition to the previous this profile are:

Slowed Acceleration of the Outer Wall: This profile incorporates slowed acceleration settings on the outer wall. This controls how quickly the 3D printer's print head changes speed. By reducing acceleration, the printer moves much more smoothly, minimizing sudden changes in speed that can lead to imperfections in the print. Slowed acceleration also helps maintain consistency in the printing process, resulting in smoother surfaces and reducing the likelihood of artifacts such as ghosting.

"Bridges Slower" approach: This is crucial for a few reasons which are - Quality, because by slowing down the print speed while bridging allows the filament to have more time to cool and solidify properly.  This helps maintain the quality of the bridge, resulting in smoother and cleaner surfaces. Accuracy, the slower print speeds during bridging reduce the chances of errors such as filament drooping or misalignment. This contributes to more accurate prints, especially in intricate designs or models with delicate features. Structural Integrity, properly bridged sections are essential for the overall strength and stability of the printed object, printing at slower speeds will give the filament more time to bond securely, reducing the risk of weak spots or structural failures. 

Features of Previous Profile that this incorporates:

Lower Jerk Settings: Jerk refers to the sudden changes in movement direction of the print head during printing. Lowering jerk settings reduces these abrupt movements, leading to smoother transitions between print paths and minimizing vibration induced artifacts like ghosting. With lower jerk settings, the print head moves more gradually and predictably, resulting in cleaner prints with reduced distortion and artifacts.

Slowed External Perimeter Speed: The external perimeter speed has been intentionally slowed down. The external perimeter refers to the outermost layers of the print, which are crucial for defining the shape and surface finish of the object. By reducing the speed at which these outer layers are printed, the printer has more time to deposit filament accurately and maintain consistent extrusion. Slowing down the external perimeter speed helps minimize issues such as ringing artifacts, where oscillations in the print can result in visible imperfections along the edges. This adjustment ensures that the outer surfaces of the print are smooth and well defined, enhancing the overall visual quality of the printed object.

Matching Top Layer Speed: Another optimisation in this profile is the matching of the top layer speed to the outer perimeter speed. The top layer of a print is particularly important as it contributes to the overall surface finish and structural integrity of the object. By matching the speed of the top layer to the slowed external perimeter speed, consistency in print quality is achieved across the entire surface of the print. This adjustment prevents discrepancies in print speed that could lead to visible defects such as uneven layer heights or inconsistent surface texture. As a result, the top layer maintains the same level of precision and detail as the rest of the print, ensuring a seamless and flawless finish.

By implementing these adjustments, the profile enhances the overall quality of the print by optimising key parameters such as acceleration, jerk, external perimeter speed and top layer speed. The result are prints that exhibit a far more superior surface finish, enhanced detail, and reduced artifacts, elevating the final output to a higher standard of excellence.
