Description
These parts are designed to use a few solid layers on the bottom and then a continuous and unbroken profile all the way up the part. Prusa and Slic3r call this vase mode, while Cura calls it spiralize.
I watch Hoocho on Youtube and they came up with a really cool idea for using old bottles for the Kratky hydroponics method. I designed a quick little adapter, acquired some cotton balls and away we go!
The idea is to set up the plant with the all the water and nutrients it will require to achieve full growth and then let it be. Once the roots are established they will not respond well to being disturbed, so if the plant needs a top-off there is a second inlet built into the adapter to allow the addition of more water.
The dimension given in the model name is the expected inner diameter of the bottle you will use, so the 18mm will fit most water and wine bottles.
The parts will be sensitive to scaling, due to a double-back on the walls. A few percent either way should be okay, but consult your layer preview. If you have a size you would really like to print, just let me know and I can configure a new file.
