JessEm Rout R Lift (router lift) inner template

Use this template to install your Jessem Rout-R-Lift into your router table.  JessEm doesn't include any templates for installation.  I found a perfect template on Printables for the outside of the router lift, but I wanted an inner template for a clean area to cut away when installing the lift.

To use, locate where you want to put the router lift on your table and use double sided tape to affix the outer template to your tabletop.  then, place both parts of this inner template inside the outer template. Mark the cut away area with a pencil or sharpie.  Then, use a jig saw or similar to cut inside of your line.  Don't worry about making a neat cut…just don't cut away your line.  In the next step, you'll use this template and a router with a pattern bit to flush trim and clean up the cutout.  Once you flush trim the opening, remove the inner pattern jig and you be left with a perfect opening for your router and lift.  I designed this pattern to give you a 5/8" lip all the way around plus extra triangulated corners for greater strength. 

After you've this jig to give you a nice clean opening, you'll still need to use the outer jig for cutter a rabbet or recess into your table top to bring your router lift down and flush with the table.
