Description
The ModuTool is a workshop's versatile and ergonomic boon, simplifying tasks with interchangeable tool heads. It's designed for ease, adaptability, and user comfort, reducing strain during long projects. This practical aid includes a wall mount for organized storage, prints well on a Prusa Mk3S+, and comes with step files for effortless remixing and new head designs. Ideal for DIY enthusiasts and hobbyists who value a streamlined creative process.
Here are the parts I used:
I printed all parts of the ModuTool in both PETG and PLA. While both materials are suitable, I recommend using PETG for components exposed to heat, such as the soldering iron holder, due to its superior heat stability. The arms can be printed in their standing orientation. To make them movable after printing, gently twist them left and right. This motion should snap off the connection points cleanly, allowing for smooth movement without damaging the parts.
The base plate with tray features a custom cutout underneath, designed to fit perfectly over a cutting mat's corner. This allows for precise placement at your workstation, ensuring stability and accessibility.
The ModuTool currently includes a variety of toolheads: a 25mm fan holder, 40mm fan holder, 40mm light ring, Pogopin adapter, lens holder, 20mm mirror mount, PCB holder with crocodile clamps, and a soldering iron holder. Each toolhead is designed for specific tasks, enhancing functionality and versatility at your workspace.
I've uploaded all my designs as STEP files to provide an accessible starting point for anyone interested in improving or expanding upon them. Feel free to use these files to customize or enhance the ModuTool according to your needs.
I'm planning more tool heads for the ModuTool and will add them here as they're developed. If you have ideas for custom tool heads or need help designing one, feel free to reach out.
