Description
These are vent cover that I designed to make the footwell vents in my Midget easily accessible, as I was tired of fumbling around at traffic lights, trying to open the vent covers. These make opening/closing the vents easy, with the 10mm long push/pull of the handle. Even the passenger side vent becomes accessible to the driver. You can even partially open/close them to meter the airflow.
They also include two small ducts that you can rotate in order to direct the airflow in multiple directions. Personally, I like having one pointed at my feet and one pointed upwards towards my lap.
I recommend printing them in ABS/ASA. I print them with (3) perimeter walls, (5) top/bottom layers, & 8% gyroid infill. One full set uses roughly 180 grams of filament.
For hardware, you'll need (4) M3x8mm flathead thread forming screws to mount the paddle retainer clips to the covers. You'll also need (8) #6 x 1" long sheet metal screws to mount the assembled covers to the footwell vents. Please see the exploded diagram for reference.
