Description
There is this great slinky on here (https://www.printables.com/de/model/842456-slinky-spring-cylinder), that prints well and that is very popular with the kids. If you print this, you will need to seperate it afterwards, as it will come out as a single pipe like thing. This is quite easy as it is only connected at single points around the circumference – but along the whole thing. The problem is that if you pull to much while seperating, you will stretch the material too much, and this will deform/ruin the slinky.
To avoid this problem, I created this small tool – it has the diameter similar to the slinky diameter, and a small seperator part that splits/slices the slinky. I scaled the referenced slinky down to 50% in diameter, so if you use a different size you should scale the tool accordingly. The scaling should be doable in your preferred slicer, but I attach also the FreeCAD Design file you can use that too.
