Meine MMU3 for MK4 ist gestern gekommen.

Was braucht man.

Vorgehensweise

Oben seht ihr eine einfache Fusion Datei. Schaut euch die Skizze Labels an

Die Schrift wird insgesamt zweimal extrudiert

  1. In den Block wird sie geprägt, also ausgeschnitten (Siehe (A)

English

My MMU3 for MK4 arrived yesterday. I still have no experience with it. However, I have so far implemented multi-coloured lettering using inlay work.

As I can imagine that this might be of interest to you, I will briefly explain my approach:

The test project

I wanted to label the switches for the motor drive for my precision filament rewinder. You can find a simplified test file here

What you need.

An embossable font (stencil font), for example the Aeromatic Stencil font. Under the link you can download and install it for Windows. There are other stencil fonts, but I have found that most of them do not work in AUTOCAD Fusion. With this font it worked.
A CAD software. I use AUTOCAD Fusion. You can find the generated file to ‘play’ with here: Labels without MMU.f3d

How to proceed

Above you can see a simple Fusion file. Take a look at the sketch labels

The font is extruded twice in total

  1. It is embossed into the block, i.e. cut out (see (A)
  2. It is positively extruded (B) onto the thin inlay base (B, 0.5 mm), the same thickness as the wall thickness (in this case 2 mm)

The label inlays are placed carefully and congruently from behind into the embossed lettering. It is not easy to find the right place. Finally, I tap them in carefully from the inside to the outside using a piece of metal (I use the extension of a nut driver). C shows the result.

This is what it looks like in the slicer:

Of course you have to print all 4 objects separately with different colours. The EMF files are available
