I wanted a container that could be printed flat without top/bottom layers. Originally made it to fit cutlery in my dish drying rack. Fusion360 files have been included for customizable sizing. Some recommend sizes included in 0.2mm and 0.3mm clearances. Walls are 2mm thick by default.
Assembly
- Print 2x Side A, 2x Side B, 1x Base
- Attach both Side A to Base, then Side B for easy assembly
- Glue together for strength
Print Settings
- Top Layers: 0
- Bottom Layers: 0
- Walls: 3+
- Sparse Infill Pattern: Your Choice (Honeycomb 15% is my favorite)
File Naming
- All dimensions in mm
- W - Width, D - Depth, H - Height, C - Joint Clearance, T - Wall Thickness
Parametric Files
- Low Profile - Has fewer tails/pins on height axis to print shorter containers down to 15mm height.
- Normal - Has 11 tails+pins per side, suitable for printing around 2-4mm thick, and from 40mm to 250mm square sides.
Notes
- I printed in PETG so 2mm wall thickness was fine.
- 0.2mm friction fit might need pliers to snap together. Glue is recommended regardless.
- Printing outer walls first will make joints much looser if you need it.
Recommended Sizes:
- Medium Container - 100W x 100D x 130H
- Small Container - 80W x 80D x 100H (half volume of Medium)
- Test Print - 50W x 50D x 50H
