Description
I liked the changes that @titleunknown_285431 made to the Pressly by @Wallnutts_278875, but I didn't have a heat-set insert for the ¼" bolt and I didn't feel that a single slot for the punch tines would work well for my purposes. I also noticed that neither the Pressly or the remix would allow me to switch punches without removing the front plate and rack entirely.
I added a hexagonal cutout to the gear that fits a ¼" nut to secure the axle.
For the baseplate, I designed a cutout and cutout inserts. The cutout is large enough for me to remove/add a punch to the rack just by popping out the insert. And the inserts themselves have slots at 3, 4, 5, and 6 mm spaces, matching the more common punch sizes. As a bonus, the cutout inserts are easily printable and replaceable if they wear out, and new slot sizes can be designed and switched in without replacing the whole baseplate.
The photographed print also uses a M4 knurled thumbscrew so you can change the punches without any tools.
