Chain and sprocket

Chain and sprocket are mechanical components used in drivetrains. The chain is a series of interconnected links that transmit motion and rotational force between two toothed wheels, called sprockets. Sprockets, also known as gears, have teeth that engage with the links of the chain, transmitting motion.
