Description
Piston is a mechanism component located inside a cylinder, which moves up and down under the pressure of combustion gases or fluids, generating mechanical energy. In piston engines, such as internal combustion engines, the piston is connected to the crankshaft via a connecting rod. The motion of the piston is converted into the rotary motion of the crankshaft, which generates driving energy. Pistons are typically made of high-strength metal alloys to withstand high temperatures and forces acting on them during engine operation.
