Prusa MMU Buffer Side Mount

After setting up 3x MMU3's, my craft table was quickly taken over by 3 buffers and the mess of 30 tubes that come with them! I considered downloading a minimalist buffer or auto-rewinder but nothing really fit my application. So I came up with this design that enables side mounting the buffer on the PSU. The mount is a single printed part that doesn't require supports. The mount attaches to the buffer using a few fasteners (MMU spare parts) but does not fasten to the printer to allow easy removal as needed. 

The majority of the stock buffer weight sits near the front so the back side that faces the front of the printer didn't require much support. Because of this, the part can only be mounted facing backwards as pictured in my installation. When printed using the recommended settings this is a very strong part, but I can't comment on the long-term strength so use at your own risk! I have not tested it printed in PLA. I also included a version for the silver PSU if needed.

Parts required:

• 4x - M3x30 bolts  (2x re-used from buffer foot)
• 4x - M3nS  (2x re-used from buffer foot)
• 1x - printed buffer mount

Buffer changes:

• Move clip-on foot to rear of buffer
• Remove bolt-on foot from buffer (save the fasteners!)
• Remove the front trapezoid piece if desired
• Drop square nuts into slots and bolt mount to bottom of buffer!

Print settings:

• PETG preferred 
• 25% infill
• No supports
• Orient text on the bottom when printing
