Description
Reverse engineered the bolt release lever for the Springfield Armory Hellion. Adds ~7mm of additional height in the area that the user interacts with it.
Installation is super simple- punch out the pin holding the original release and lift it off carefully (so as not to loose the spring underneath). Move the spring over to the new part and re-install, taking care to make sure that the tab goes into the front of the slot. Re-install the pin. Perform a function test.
The changes from V3-V4 are just adding an additional contour so that the V4 file has the same amount of added space, but a smaller footprint. V6 adds a larger diameter hook.
Printed in PETG, 0.2mm. Recommend printing nose-down so that the layer lines in the tab aren't stressed (and if the tab were ever to break, it won't break off into the mechanism). Supports required. Some light sanding may be necessary for smooth movement (it was for mine).
NEW, 2025
Added V7, which shrinks the width of the part by ~.5mm to make it fit better with less post-processing (sanding still recommended; it runs smoother when sanded), and increases the length of the hook by 2mm.
