Description
My IKEA UTESPELARE gaming desk had very serious sag in the rear due to 2 heavy monitors mounted on a central monitor stand.
I designed and printed this support pillar that sits on the metal cross member that also holds the cable management net. It sits on the metal cross member with ridges that, together with the weight of the tabletop, hold it firmly in place. The top part is held in by the metal hooks that also hold the cable management net.
You can print just 1 to support the middle of the tabletop, or a maximum of 3 (as they hold on to the metal hooks). I printed 3 for extra support and because my tabletop had already warped significantly.
I printed this in eSUN PETG with 4 vertical shells, which should be overkill for even the heaviest monitors and equipment. With 4 vertical shells, even light infill should be sufficient. I used PrusaSlicer defaults, other than the extra vertical shells.
Supports are required as there is a flat overhang where the cutout for the screw and metal hook is.
