Description
Since my kid drops his bike very often, the original bar ends were smashed and destroyed. I tried some other bar ends (https://www.printables.com/model/500836-ultralight-bike-bar-end-plug-parametric) but they got smashed as well. So I decided to make my own, rugged Bar ends.
They fit standard hadlebars with the outside diameter (OD) of 22.3mm and inside diameter (ID) of 18.5mm. You need a M6x20mm socket head screw and a M6 nut (or better: lock nut) per end cap.
I printed mine in black PETG, and added fuzzy skin in the slicer on the part that is outside the handlebar. This is just for esthetics ;) It prints without supports, but it contains a sacrificial layer that needs to be punched through for the screw to get in.
Assemblying: firstpunch the sacrificial layer and insert the screw and the (lock) nut as seen in the pics. Do not screw it completely for the moment! Then insert the bar end into the handlebar and completely screw the bolt. Do not overscrew it, it just needs to hold the bar end it ins place and protect the handlebar.
I'm not gonna ask for a coffee, but please make sure you give me a like if you find this model useful.
