Description

This enclosure houses all the electronic components you could want with built in wire-routing zip tie anchors, ducted cooling vents, and more! Mounts to the rear of the printer, leaving the front end free for other accessories.

Includes mounting locations for

  • Main control board (Creality, BTT SKR Mini E3, or compatible)
  • Enclosure fan
  • Raspberry Pi (A, B, or Zero)
  • LM2596 DC-DC converter
  • Relay module
  • Terminal block

The enclosure slides in from the back of the printer along the t-slots in the frame and is secured in place with M5 screws into the extrusion end holes. There are two versions of the covers--one for mounting over the y-axis motor mount and one for mounting directly to the y-axis frame piece in case you've mounted the y-axis motor elsewhere, e.g. with a linear rail upgrade.

The two trays will screw together with 4x M3 screws. At this point you can fit the electronics and run all the internal wires. All electronics are mounted with M3 screws that thread directly into the plastic. There are multiple zip-tie anchor points throughout for clean wire routing. Use jumpers on the terminal block to create multiple 24v and GND connection points as needed.

After finishing the electronics, slide the tray assembly into the back of the printer prior to putting the lids in place. Run the wires to the motors and print head and zip-tie the bundle to the exit point on the far left of the printer, then install the lids. The wire bundle going to the heated bed can come through the opening in the middle if the wires aren't long enough to go out the left. Note: for the y-axis_orig versions of the lid, you will need to remove the y-axis motor bracket from the frame to install the lids.
