Description
This is a clip to attach a cable to a fence. Nail a normal nail into the fence, place the cable in this clip, and then hang it on the nail.
If you want this already printed and mailed it is available to purchase here. I am the only one allowed to sell this model - https://www.etsy.com/listing/4303683262/outdoor-cable-clip-for-internet-fence
It is designed to work with Verizon residential fiber optic FIOS cables, which is a shielded cable that has an oval cross section of 8x6mm. I use a 3 inch long galvanized nail through the hole, which allows a head diameter of 9mm. You want to insert the cable into the clip, then hang it onto the existing nails. I do not like burying these cables and like to know where they are in my yard so I hang them up on the fence with these hanger clips. When buried they run the risk of being damaged with a shovel or lawn equipment and knocking out the internet. This is an improved new version with locking nubs. The nubs better position and hold the cable and prevent the cable from rubbing against the nail. There is a version with half nubs for less part deformation and easier insertion as well.
first nail in 3 inch fence nails at a 45 degree angle pointing upwards
Check that the outer side (yard side) hole has a higher hole position than the fence side hole
place cable into clip holder slot so it locks into place past the clips
place holder (with cable inside) over nail so it rests against the fence post
Print in PETG
3+ perimeters (add perimeters until the entire U is one perimeter with 15% infill) as we want the layers to add strength
.25 layer height
no supports
Orient with the U side of the clip against the bed (print the clip on it's side), so layers lines are parallel to the hanging downward force.
Use the included 8x 3mf to print 8 at a time. I had to print about 25 of these for my cables
