Description

I started creating it because drying diving booties is more efficient when they are hanging upside down, but ended up creating a whole vertical rack for all the small diving equipment. And once it was done, it turned out useful for drying just about anything - shoes, boxing gloves and what not (will soon update with usage pics). So sharing.

Inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4926201, but the original didn't fit my needs and I had no piping available, so decided to create my own.

The whole thing consists of a few types of hangers mounted on a standard metal-plastic broomstick with diameter of ~22mm, and fits tight. Screw the parts in place with self-drilling screws after positioning, the holes are already marked.

The hangers types:

  • Booties - consists of 2 parts, the base and the legs, to reach the necessary width and distance from the broomstick. Meant for hanging the booties nose-up, similar to ski/snowboard boots.
  • Short generic - 6 vertical poles of ~10cm length for hanging anything that fits.
  • Long generic - 6 vertical poles of ~18cm length for hanging light stuff like diving gloves, hoods etc. Please note that these are high and slower speeds / Z-hop might be needed, depending on your printer.

Print Settings

  • Rafts: No
  • Supports: No
  • Resolution: 0.2
  • Infill: 15% and up
  • Filament material: Anything should work, I used PLA
  • Notes: For all parts except generic_long, 15% probably should be enough on a well tuned printer. For generic_long, more infill might be useful.
