More info on how I made the glass here (reddit) and here (imgur album) and in the video to my assortment box here.
One of my few projects that I actually kind of finished.
As I always start to despise my projects the closer I get to finishing them, I would only add more information, instructions and files and whatnot if there's a demand.
An intersting note: The blue lantern (PLA, a coat of epoxy resin with thickener and “Hammerite”-like paint) was outside now for a couple of months and aside from being dirty has no major defects. But the LED candle inside melted a bit (it is made of real wax) and stands at an angle now.
This is my first ever attempt at “weathering” (except for some real life dust, I also made this ca. 6 months ago):
The white lantern (it's actually "Stone PLA" without any coating) was made by putting 3 "laminating pouches" foils back to back and putting one of those window films on the glue side of the third pouch foil, then running it through the laminator a couple of times:
Note: The function as a bird feeder is not that good. The two arms are a little too tight, so some of the larger birdseed can get stuck (but nothing a little wiggling won't solve). As I said, I ended up hating this thing so much that I didn't bother making it any bigger.
Also, our birds in the garden don't like this food at all, preferring the fat balls (Google says the translation from German to English is "tit balls" lol), so I don't have any pictures of birds actually using it, so there's that. (A squirrel once ate all the sunflower seeds, but I don't have any pictures of him 🙁)
Another interesting note: The SLA-printed glass is still holding up fine after months in the sun. It was water-washable clear resin from Anycubic. I thought it would become yellow and brittle with time, but no. Still fine.
