Description
Panels are made for 5mm thick Polycarbonate panel for frameless mounting onto 2020 extrusions. Spacing for the hinges is actually 5.5mm to make room for cloth tape for vibration noise dampening and extra sealing. Rotation should be at least 180 degrees if not almost 200 degrees from closed state.
In order to print the parts you need, just cut out the pieces in the slicer you want or don't want and arrange them standing on the buildplate. No supports needed. Voron print settings or sturdier will do.
Mounting hardware should be M3x10mm for frame hinge, for door use at least M3x12 or longer bolts and hinges are joined by at least M3x45 with longer thread as I made a M3 nut slot should I desire to make the door removable but keep the bolts in place. If you want to tighten it up from the get-go, then use M3x55 bolts and screw the nut on from the bottom for extra aestetics.
With the closed top pieces you can very well do it up to 45mm bolts as the top wall is 3mm thick. OR you can opt for longer bolts if you choose to use shims. For these parts I left the nut slot in the extrusion piece.
22.05.2024 - Added new panel pieces with 3mm offset to accomodate for TESA window seal as it's super cheap way to actually get a proper seal and vibration dampening for the big front door. Original panel brackets squish the panel into the seal and makes the panel bend quite a bit. Also modified bottom parts a bit to allow a bit more movement albeit it's still less compared to original design. Added a cutout for the panel because initial version of the offset mount did not have enough space.
23.05.2024 - After fiddling with offset hinges alot, I decided that two screws are one too many to keep fiddling with. Replaced it with single M5x10 bolt, shortened the hinge carrier height 15mm and made some design changes to it.
