Description
Are you interested in providing a permanent habitat for our solitary bee friends? 🐝🏡
Here's a method to achieve just that! I designed this insect hotel after noticing that commercial versions tend to deteriorate quickly. My goal was to create a long-lasting structure while still being mindful of the environment and wildlife.
The outer shell is made from PETG, a material that resists UV damage (unlike PLA, which degrades into microplastics over time). Opt for light colors to reflect sunlight and prevent overheating. Inside, place bamboo and wood sections (each cut to 10cm lengths) that have been drilled with an 8 or 10mm bit.
To create the face plate, use the provided DXF file for laser cutting 3.6mm plywood.
