Description

Total height is 40cm and broken into 4 sections (with various connectors.

As you can see in the photo of the finished good, the sections individually don't seem right but overall the top is level. To correct this issue when gluing, I have added a spacer that is the correct height between Sections 1 to 2 & 2 to 3.

Print 2 x spacers to use when gluing to avoid my mistake.

The make in the photo was;

  • Printed on an Prusa MK3s
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 2 perimeters
  • 5% infill
  • 37.5hrs Total print time for all parts

For post processing, see below steps if you want to some tips on replicating the same look in the photos.

  • 80 grit sanding for the first round
  • Initial filler used was Rosco Foamcoat
    • After mixing the Foamcoat within the tub, I separated a small amount and every so often dipped my brush in was water, as I brushed the Foamcoat on
    • Let this dry
  • 320 grut sanding before filler primer
  • 1 coat of MTN Pro Grey filler primer
  • 400 grit sanding before paint
  • 1 coat of Rust-Oleum 2x Ultra Cover - Espresso Satin
    • Shout out to @SilverrendProps for the advise on how to achieve the Dwemer look in the photo
  • Sponge on some Rub'n'buff Antique Gold to the desired effect
  • Glue the parts together
    • Its easier to colour the S1/S2 & S2/S3 Connectors, as well as the top & bottoms for each section before assembly
    • make sure to use the spacers
  • Spray a coat of sealant
