Brick Press 1/10 scale

March 20, 2025
Description
Used to press some clay in to a brick form. Easy and fast to print. The .step is available too if you want to modify it.
The bricks are intended to be used as a 1:10 scale model but scaling to your needs is easy to be done.
Note: The press and also the bricks shown in the pictures are scaled down to 70%
Printing:
Print all parts in their given orientation and at 0.2mm layer hight. Set the variable layerhight for the upper half of the Separator to 0.1mm in order to make brick ejection a little easier. this is not necessary though. Print the top of the Tamper with 0.1mm variable layerhight too, in order to have smooth details. Enable ironing for the top surface of the Stamp and for all top surfaces of the Tamper
How to use:
Please note that it is most likely that your first few batches will look horrible but youll get the gist of it really fast. As soon as you have the right thickness of the clay figured out, the bricks basically start making them selfes.
See the .3mf for how the press is being assembled
Step 1a)
Fill in the mold with clay one by one with your finger. Dont top them up and leave a little space if you want to emboss the pattern with the tamper.
Step 1b)
Make sure there is no clay left on the separator and all brick molds are nicely separated
Step 2)
Press the tamper on top and squish it really tightly.
Step 3)
Remove the tamper
Step 4)
Remove the spacer and,
Release the bricks by pushing down the separator firmly and swiftly
Note: Pressing down the separator really fast is important in order to ensure crisp details and good separation.
Step 5)
Take the bricks from the press by pushing them on their long side with a spatula or one side of the tamper.
Done! You have unlocked an unlimited supply of tiny bricks now!
No idea what to do with thousands of tiny bricks? Maybe try to haul them around with stuff from this collection
