Why print this?
The handle is made of chinesum and bends with very little effort, making it useless to actually do its job.
How does this work?
It braces the handlebar against two bolts on the leg of the planter so it is sturdy enough to use while loaded. The load is held with a captive nut and long bolt.
Requires:
- 2x [¼in-20 x 1-1/2in] screw + hex nut (or similar)
- 4x Existing screws for the handle (nuts are not needed)
- Optionally, you can improve strength with glue or drilling the hole in the existing handle
How to install?
- Slide the [¼in-20] hex nuts into the printed pieces all the way. Use the [¼in-20 x 1-1/2in] screw to align as needed
- Remove the existing handle and the two bolts under the two handle screws
- Slide the handle support into the handle so it fits flush
- (optional) drill holes in handle for extra support
- Discard the existing nuts, assemble with the [¼in-20 x 1-1/2in] on top, and existing screws on bottom
