Description

I wasn't that much satisfied with my first version of a guitar pick holder, so I decided to create a better one. This version also is custimizable to your needs, you just need to measure your guitar picks and put the measurements in the spread sheet of the attached FreeCAD file.

My measurements are for the 3 picks that are my favorites:

  • D'Addario Black Ice 1.10 mm pick
  • Chicken Pick shredder with 3.5 mm thickness
  • Dunlop Jazz III pick with 1.5 mm thickness

What you need

For this model I used 2 magnets with 20mm diameter and 5mm thickness. If you have other sizes of magnets, you can put the measurements also in the customizarion, just keep in mind that you might adjust the BoxDepth if your magnets are smaller.

Printing instructions

Insert a Pause command on the layer level before the magnet holes are going to be covered again. That should be at 6.05 mm, but differs according to your customization. When the print is paused insert the 2 magnets and resume with printing.

Post processing

Because there are bridges in the slots of the picks you might need to scratch there a bit with a sharp knife if your printer is not that good at printing bridges. Otherwise you can also consider to add a bit to your picks thickness, so that the slots are larger.
