Description
Inspired by Isogrid pattern commonly used in aerospace industry I decided to design Dewalt lamp in this style.
This project requires some basic electronics and soldering skills.
Additional hardware:
16xM4x14
2x M4x25
1x XL6009
4x5.5mm rods
1x mini rocket switch
2x Cable Lug Male
Main part of the lamp is the core which can be 3d printed but I used aluminum square tube for better heat dissipation. It can be found in your local hardware store.
You need to glue 4 strips of LED to each side of the core and then run cables through it from the top to the bottom.
I used 12V led strips therefore you need some sort of converter from 18v to 12V DC.
I used: XL6009 4A
From the converter you will need to connect it to the mini rocker switch and with the batter itself.
Base 3 is equipped with slots to accommodate Cable Lug Male which are used to connect with battery cells.
Rest of the assembly is easy as shown in the picture below.
I recommend to print isogrid lamp shade using resin printer since it has really thin wall and a lot of details. Rest can be easily printed on the FDM printer. Recommended print orientation is depicted in the picture.
