IR Turret “Heavy Arms” Mod - Crunch Labs Hack Pack 001
This is a work in progress (print at your own risk)
This is a 3D-printed gear system to use the existing ROLL servo to rotate 4 other barrels to fire 4 times the ammo. no coding changes required this is purely a physical mod.
I have a stock ender printing at very low speeds.
3D Printing Info
- Print Time: Approximately 34 hours (including barrels), 19 hours without barrels
- Material: PLA/PETG
- Supports: Add supports for barrel-gears
- Infill: 15%
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Perimeters: 4 mm
Instructions:
- add the 4 small-gears to the 4 closest mounts and secure them in place with the smol-shafts and caps (might need some super glue in the cap if it doesnt stay on.
- attach the 4 barrel-gears the same way using the big-shafts and caps
- remove the #3 Roll servo motor from the build and unscrew the orange default gear.
- install the servo into the new plate in the same orientation and screw the driver-gear onto the servo motor.
- attach the barrels to the barrel-gears
- attach the barrel caps (download from crunchlab's thingiverse) to the barrels (make sure you align the prongs
- should be good to go.
Issues:
- v1 plate's firing mechanism sometimes jams against the darts and not fire
- the barrel closest to the pitch motor will have darts jam there as well
- very top heavy, might need stronger pitch motor
- reloading darts is very very challenging
Additional Notes:
I tried looking for paper tubes at Michaels and Staples near me but couldnt find the right size. so i modeled the barrel for mine. if you can find paper tubes i would recommend it to reduce weight.

Update: plate-v2 introduces a ramp to hopefully push the darts off for firing.
