Description
I love my Exped Megamat Duo, but it takes forever to pump with the included foot pump. Exped sells a rechargeable mini pump, but for $50. This Intex mini USB pump can be found for as little as $13 online, and can easily be powered by a high quality USB battery bank at the campsite.
I designed this simple 3D printed adapter to lock on to both ends to allow efficient and hands-free inflation of Exped sleeping pads. This tiny pump can inflate the huge Megamat 10 Duo in under a minute and is way quieter than inflators from power tool companies.
This should print well on any reasonably tuned FDM printer with a 0.4mm nozzle. I printed it in PLA with 3 walls for extra strength, and small supports for the slots on the pump side. You may have better luck flipping the model upside-down depending on how well your printer can handle overhangs. If the fit is too tight on your pump, blow a little hot hair from a heat gun or hair dryer into that end of the printed part and then gently slide it onto the pump. The part will cool and solidify in exactly the right shape.
