20 Minute Drain Stick Hanger

November 29, 2021
Description
If you have long hair or live with someone who does, you probably know exactly how often you need to remove a gathering of hair from the shower drain. (For me it's after every shower, but also sometimes twice per shower. No, I don't understand how there's that much hair, either.) I wanted a dedicated stick for removing the hair, that I can find, grab, and use even when I'm not wearing glasses, and that I can clean or replace part of when it gets gross. So I made this, and I've been using it for several months now!
It's designed for round disposable chopsticks of ~5mm diameter, but any smaller stick, or the smaller end of the square type of disposable chopstick, should also work with some adhesive. (This is a time when basic craft glue should suffice, so that you can remove the chopstick later.)
The D-ring or hook prints in place. There are two versions - the D-ring which I made originally for hanging on a hook on the wall, and the hook version which I imagine would work better with, say, one of those wire shower caddies.
To print:
- PLA (but if you try in another material please lmk!)
- 0.2 layer height
- no supports
- no raft or brim
