Introducing an Optimal BLTouch Mount for Ender 3, Aquila, and Similar 3D Printers

Greetings to the vibrant community of Printables enthusiasts,

To all fans and users of the Ender 3, Aquila, and other similar 3D printers, I have encountered an issue with my BLTouch probing only 80%-85% of my print bed. Seeking a more efficient solution, I researched extensively and discovered a compact yet highly effective shroud that offers ample space on both the left and right sides.

Utilizing this shroud, I designed a new BLTouch mount that allows for further movement towards the center of the X gantry, achieving what I call "zero loss" in bed probing capability.

After several iterations and testing, I am pleased to present my final design, Version 4, which is now perfected and ready for use.

Print Settings:

1. Orientation: Maintain the recommended orientation for optimal results.
2. Infill: Use your preferred infill percentage, ensuring it is above 15%.
3. Supports: Utilize tree supports with automatic generation.

Assembly Tips:

1. Gantry Movement: Shorten the bolt on the lower V-roller to allow the gantry to move more freely to the right.
2. Nut Adjustment: Use a slimmer nut or sand down the existing one if necessary (note that this is optional).
3. Cable Routing: Pass the BLTouch cable through the designated hole on the part as illustrated in the provided images.
4. BLTouch Mounting: Secure the BLTouch to the part using nuts and bolts, ensuring the cable connector is positioned on the left side.
5. Part Installation: Mount the part onto the X gantry using the two bolts already designated for the BLTouch.
6. Height Adjustment: Adjust the height of the part so that it is between 2.3mm and 4.3mm taller than the nozzle.

Final Adjustments:

1. X Stepper Distance: Adjust the maximum X stepper distance accordingly.
2. Bed Mesh Distance: Update your maximum bed mesh distance in accordance with your specific firmware requirements.
3. Probe Testing and Calibration:
   • Test your probe.
   • Perform a bed leveling mesh.
   • Adjust the Z offset as needed.
