Modix Big60 AWD CoreXY Flying Gantry Conversion

8/6/2024: Added the remixed Y endstop mount to accept the stock limit switch, I did include mounting holes, but it is a press in fit from the machine I printed it on. Switched from sensorless homing. Xol has provisions for a tool mounted x endstop. I printed a simple stop block to mount on the x beam for it to trigger on. Check Xol bom for microswitch info.

7/9/2024: Added 2 more pictures after switching to cpap. The 4010 blowers I had on hand were pretty weak, so I went all out.

Hello all, this is a fresh conversion I did, currently running its first big print. Allow me some time to document all details after I shake this machine down.

Cad will get you started for any voron based gantry. I chose monolith becuase its a very stout setup. The sole purpose of it was mockup for extrusion and rail lenghts and used an older version of the released monolith, which has since been updated and very useful for assembly.

Basically this mod moves the bed to the bottom at a static position and is supported better using the stock bed frame extrusions. there is minimal trimming involved.

Other than that I tried to not modify any existing hardware. Keep in mind this mod also requires new linear rails suited to monolith/voron sizes. I chose to keep is simple and that was the best way for me, it would not stop anyone from re using the stock rails and adapting a different gantry.
