HULA v1.0 for VORON Printers

(IMPORTANT) 

• Please download the User Guide for HULA v1.0.
• I do my best to double-check and test the print profile I create. They are up to date with whatever changes I made to the designs.

• Bearing washers have to be installed with the smooth side facing the bearings.

I have been gathering valuable feedback from users since the launch of HULA RC2. HULA v1.0 is the result of incorporating some of these suggestions to improve the design.  

1. HULA petg parts are now easier to print and assemble. 
2. The TPU dampener design is improved for more linear dampening and is easier to print with less stringing.
3. Cleaned up 3mf project files and updated the user guide.

I hope this will improve the user's experience of making HULA.

NOTE

As I do not own a Voron Switchwire, the HULA for Voron Switchwire has not been properly tested. Weight distribution over the 4 feet may not be balanced and this may lead to a load-balance issue.  Anyone using the Switchwire and keen to test the HULA, should monitor the set-up and performance.  Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

INTRODUCTION

Most 3D printers use rubber feet designed to absorb motors and engine vibrations. It does not do a good job of absorbing the force caused by the directional changes of the toolhead. I drew inspiration from seismic base isolators used to earthquake-proof building structures and designed HULA.

What is HULA?

HULA is an Omnidirectional Self-Aligning Anti-Vibration Foot specifically designed to dampen movement vibration generated by fast 3D printers. It decouples the printer from the table and dampens the horizontal XY forces of corexy & cartesian printers, preventing the printer from swaying/wobbling. This reduces the stress on the printer frame, improves print quality and reduces the shake translated to the table and other printers.

HULA for Voron is designed with the same principles in mind.  The HULA centre core (designed for the Creality K1) is fitted with specific feet adaptors for the various Voron printers.

Files for HULA for Voron are prepared on BambuSlicer and can be opened with OrcaSlicer. If you want HULA for other 3D printers (ie Bambu Lab or Creality), you may download them from my MakerWorld page. 

There are 2 versions with and without PLA support. To make HULA for VORON, you will need to print Build Plates 01, 07 and 09 (optional)

Hula is meant to be a fun and functional project for the community, and the way it moves reminded me of Crayon Shin Chan 蜡笔小新 (クレヨンしんちゃん), one of my favourite manga during my school days.
