Description
My friend asked for my help with fixing his lawn mower. The button for locking the lawn mower height broke and he asked me if I know a way to glue it back whilst making it at least as strong as it was from the factory. The alternative he found was to lock the height using some screws.
I managed to design a new part and I think I make it significantly stronger than the original one. I printed it in ASA so it should last long enough outside. I have no experience with PETG.
The lawn mower is a Bosch Advanced Rotak 650. We tested the part and it worked just like the original one.
I designed it in a way you can reinforce it with some long 3m screws:
The locking clips are connected to the outer wall so they are easier to print, but you can use a knife to disconnect them after printing. I would recommend using a 0.2mm layer height on a 0.4mm nozzle.
