Description
Log cabin style construction is often used for garden buildings and outbuildings such as a garden office, studio or summer room. The walls are built from stacked lengths of timber which contract and expand according to temperature and humidity. The height of a 2 metre high wall might change several centimetres. If you fix any rigid item to the wall with fixing points connecting to more than one horizontal timber, the wall and/or the item will be damaged over time. One option is to use a slotted hole for all but the top fixing point, but this is difficult to add to a metal bar. So instead, the lower fixing point of the NORBERG vertical bar can be clamped to the wall, allowing the bar to slide up and down through the clamp as the wall expands and contracts.
Printing
Use PETG, ABS or similar. Not PLA. 0.2 to 0.32 layers, 0.4 to 0.6 nozzle, 3 perimeters, 20% grid infill (or more if you want). Larger nozzle and thicker layers give stronger prints.
Assembly
Use non-countersunk screws. As designed, clearance hole is 5.1mm, counterbore is 9.7mm. Make sure the upper end of the NORBERG vertical bar is well-fixed, as the lower bar fixing will not contribute much to supporting weight.
