BYOB Gridfinity Screw Sorter - Bring Your Own Bins

This model takes the concept of a rolling screw sorter from LayerLux3D and expands upon it to be fully Gridfinity compatible. The sorter itself has a 4x1 Gridfinity base and can be used with standard bins. Simply put it on top of the bins you want to use for your sorted screws. It is also compatible with bins with labels.
 

I've tested this with both button head cap screws (BHCS) and socket head cap screws (SHCS) with M3 and M4 sizes I had on hand. Some of the shorter SHCS M4 screws didn't quite work properly as the heads were too heavy for the screw to fall in, but YMMV.
 

Two versions are included depending on how you like your bins

Version 1 - Split Bins
The first version uses bins with a vertical divider between two sides. This sorts the eight length screws across four split bins (6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 mm).

Version 2 - Individual Bins
The second version is actually a pair of sorters - one for 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm screws and another for 14, 16, 18, and 20 mm screws. These are used if you want each bin to be fully dedicated to one size. The eight screw lengths are sorted into eight individual bins. 

Start by sorting using the short screw sorter first - use an extra bin to catch any that fall off the end. Then use the long screw sorter to sort the remaining screws from the runoff bin.

These two sorters will fit into a 4x1 spot on a 6U tall Gridfinity case. Simply put one on the base and put the other upside down on the first. This will make the stackup roughly the height of the 6U Gridfinity stacking lip. A case which presses down on the bins will also help prevent the sorters from slamming around.

Printing

Contrary to standard Gridfinity printing, this sorter is printed with the slanted top side down on the build plate. This is to create the smoothest surface for the screws to roll on. With that in mind, I recommend using a smooth or satin print bed.  I've printed it at 0.2 layer heights and the resulting layered “bottom” is good enough for the Gridfinity base.

You can insert filament swaps as required to accent the text if desired. I've attached a .3MF file from Bambu Slicer with my filament changes with an AMS.

No supports are required - all unsupported elements are bridges.
