Description

After some research, I came to the conclusion that the best and cost effective way to keep filament dry, is to use a cereal box. These are cheap and provide a perfect seal from the elements. This build adds a Hygrometer and Thermometer to the design. I choose to have the Desiccant loose in the base of the box, because this allows it to work best, plus this way means recharging is simply a case of pouring out the box and onto a try, without having to fiddle with little storage boxes.

Parts for Build

This build is designed around these specific parts. Amazon Affiliate Links

  • Cereal Box - https://geni.us/Cereal
  • Hygrometer Gauge -https://geni.us/HygrometerGauge Get V1, not V2. This will measure 47.5x28mm across the bezel with the main body measuring approx. 45x26mm.
  • Desiccant - https://geni.us/Desiccant

Print Notes

This model is an easy print, although it does require some support material. Each lid is 30g of material, I would recommend PLA.

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.20mm
  • Infill: 15%
  • Orientation: Lid down, gauge up
  • Supports: Required for gauge frame only
  • Brim: Not Required
  • Top Shell Layers: 4
  • Bottom Shell Layers: 3
  • Wall Loops: 2
