Description
As the name suggests these docks use screws to hook on, they are compatible with Dragonburner and Stealthburner. The old cowls can be reused, you just have to put two spacers and longer screws with nuts on the Toolheads. For the parking movement I used a custom toolpath created by user bmyonathan on the DraftShift Design discord.
# Stealthchanger Screwdock
params_dropoff_path: [{'z':4.8, 'y':5}, {'z':4.8, 'y':0}, {'z':0, 'y':0, 'f':0.5}, {'z':-12.3, 'y':0}, {'z':-12.3, 'y':3.5}, {'z':-12.3, 'y':16}]
params_pickup_path: [{'z':-12.3, 'y':16}, {'z':-12.3, 'y':3.5}, {'z':-12.3, 'y':0}, {'z':0, 'y':0, 'f':0.5}, {'z':4.8, 'y':0}, {'z':4.8, 'y':5}]
I just homed the printer and manually drove the toolhead in the docking position, changed the values in the file of the toolhead tested and did some slight changes, I recommend decreasing the docking speed for the testing! I used ¼ of my regular docking speed.
17.08.2024 Update - I added also an “adjustable” Version with a Screw at the Bottom to adjust that the Tool is perpendicular. I prefer this because the screw seems to generate less friction than plastic on plastic and because the docking goes even smoother. I recommend this Version!
28.05.2026 Update - I added a “short” Version für the Dragonburner, this smaller version can only be used if you dont have a Stealthburner.
If you are interested in the Crossbar, check my other Designs!
There are a lot of models, to make sure you got the right one please check here (the same goes also for Stealthburner):
Mounting type | Dock | Wiper |
Angle_Iron | Screw_Dock_Dragonburner | Parking_Spot_Dragonburner |
2020 Extrusion | Screw_Dock_Dragonburner_2020 | Parking_Spot_Dragonburner_2020 |
2040 Extrusion | Screw_Dock_Dragonburner_2040 | Parking_Spot_Dragonburner_2020 |
For The Dragonburner there are also 2 different Spacers:
Orignal Dragonburner Cowl | Recomended Cowl on the Stealthburner Github “DB_Cowl_v8_with_TapChanger_Dock_Hooks_V1” |
2xSpacer_Dragonburner_Stock_Cowl | 2xSpacer_Dragonburner_for_DB_Cowl_v8_with_TapChanger_Dock_Hooks_V1_OstroMa |
Assembly of the cowl is easy, you screw the nut on until it reaches the head, then put the spacer and screw it in the cowl until the end, then you have to hold the nut and turn the screw back exactly 3 turns (1,5mm). if its later still to tight, you can adjust it a bit.
Additional hardware for the Toolheads is:
Dragonburner:
| Stealhtburner:
|
And if you are planing to use the “Parking_Spots” i designed you also need:
2xM5x30mm
2x M5 Hex Nuts
1x M5 Washer (Optional)
High temp silicon
I printed a Screw_Mold in PLA, and aligned with the lower part of the screwhead to add 2mm on the top and then filled it with sillicon and let it try on night. Afterwards I cut it away and removed it.
Feel free to create other wiper Solutions! This was the idea behind make the dock and wiper separate parts.
