Description

I designed this wall mounted spindle to hold Microcord spools. I've included the FreeCad file if anyone wants to adapt it for bigger or smaller spools. My spools are 55.5mm diameter, 33mm tall with a 25mm diameter central hole. After you've used the microcord, you now have a handy wall mounted spool for storing any long thin windable material - much better than throwing out those old spools.

Feel free to remix and share this to your hearts content (and post some pics) but please remember it's a non-commercial license. It's in no way expected, but if you find this useful and want to buy me a coffee it will be greatly appreciated.

Notes:

I printed this with 25% Gyroid infill for the base and 50% for the spindle. It was sliced using Prusa 2.6 beta. I used organic (tree) supports in the underside channel with a 0.3mm top contact z separation which gave it enough support and made it very easy to remove with a small pry tool

Post-Printing =============

It came off the print bed pretty much ready to go. Some of the lightening holes in the base looked better after a quick go over with de-burring tool, but they would have been perfectly functional without it. It's secured to the wall with 3M Command strips which are like easily removable velcro. Any foam adhesive pads that will fit in the channel on the back of the base should work, but be careful what you use if you think you might want to remove the holder and the adhesive one day.
