TS80 Carry Case
I wanted a case that would carry my TS80 soldering iron and some accessories so I came up with this design.
The case has the following slots:
The flexible charging cable that came with my soldering iron also fits in the main compartment.
Filament Hinge:
This is my second design that utilizes a hinge made out of regular 1.75mm filament. Just cut the piece so it sticks out on both sides a few mm, then use a soldering iron or lighter to soften the filament enough to mold into a rivet. (Tip: Use a flathead screwdriver or knife to flatten the end) If you melt the tip of the filament hinge to the lid and the other end to the case you end up with a self closing lid due to the piece of filament twisting when opening. If you don't want it to self close, simply melt the filament hinge without fusing it to the case.
Extra Info:
Everything that fits together has a 0.25mm clearance, it prints on my MK4 with no issues at 0.2mm layer height. The lid stays shut well enough for the case to be upside down and shaken without opening, hopefully its the same for you.
The insert is 184.5 x 94.5 x 15.0 mm if you feel like making a custom one for your own tools.
