Stackable Container Shelf System + Vasemode! (Part2)

September 6, 2024
Description
Heyho
This is part 2 of this organization system! The housings for the stackable container!
You can use the housings to transport your container/ boxes without the parts falling out! Especially if you combine the container with a lid for smaller pieces!
Β
Also you can build yourself custom shelves with the housings! You can stack one above annother and with the connector you can even combine different towers of these housings together!
Β
The Connection points of the housings are designed so you can slide them into each other. But it works also fine just to βclickβ them into place!
Β
If everything is connected properly the shelves will be quite strong!
Β
As in Part 1 you have 2 possibilities. A) You print the boxes as they are and B) You can print them in Vasemode.
Pro & Con Vasemode:
+ Fast
+ Less material used
+- Toughness is strongly dependant on the used material, printing settings and nozzle diameter.
Pro & Con Classic:Β
+ Tough
+ You can print several parts at the same time.
- longer print time
- more material used
Printing Instructions:Β
Vasemode:Β
Small Disclaimer: The XS Version is very small and therefore reaching the limits of a 0,4 mm nozzle. So I don't recommend to print this in vasemode! Also I don't recommend to print the L Version with only 0,6 mm wall thickness.
For a 0,4 mm Nozzle set your Extrusion width to 0,6 mm.Β
For a 0,6 mm Nozzle Β set your Extrusion width to 0,9 mm.
Slow down your printing speed a little to get a better layer adhesion.Β
Slow down or turn off your printing fan. Cooling reduces the layer adhesion a lot.
Β
Tipp: If you have enough place on the printbed (depends on the container you choose and the printbeds size) you can use βsequentialβ printing to print several container in one file.
Β
Classic:
Use the perimeter generator Arachne.
2 Perimeter 0,15 - 0,2 mm layer height are fine.Β
Materials:
I printed my boxes mostly in PETG but also PLA works fine. But beware! Some filaments have a quite bad layer adhesion and therefore are no good solution for a technical design like this! (mostly matte and silky filaments).
Scaling:
Of course you can also scale this Box as you like! For example to 200%?Β
But make sure to scale the following parts in the same way so they stay compatible to annother.

Have fun!
Next Design will be a wall mounting for the housings if you want to mount them to a wall!
