Description
This is a very simple plate which accommodates the nuts from the bottom of the Y axis and makes it possible to have the bolts upside down on the bottom of the Y carriage, thus making it accessible without disassembling the heat bed.
Put the nuts in the plate, place the plate on top of the Y carriage, bolt the bearing holder from the bottom of the carriage.
To access them move the bed to the rear side and voila, you see the bolts.
I have my set printed in PC Blend and have no issues so far,. If you are printing with materials which does not need very high bed temps PETG is probably fine, but I recommend something more heat resistant (PC, PC Blend, ASA, ABS, etc).
I have an MK3S Y carriage and it fits perfectly, but I have no way to test the part with the new MK4 carriage. If you decide to test it and have any feedback, please let me know.
Obviously print 3 of this to have a full set :)
Origin: I switched to drylin bearings and the tension sometimes needs to be adjusted to make them run smooth. I was very tired of disassembling the bed and adjust the tension or to try to catch the bolt head with something to tighten the nut on the bottom, so I came up with this very simple plate to turn things around and I am 100% happy with it, thus I shared it.
Have fun and happy printing!
